Food Safety System Certification 22000
Food Safety System Certification 22000 (FSSC 22000) is a robust ISO-based, internationally accepted certification scheme for assessment and certification of food safety management systems in the whole supply chain. FSSC 22000 uses the existing standards ISO 22000, ISO 22003 and technical specifications for sector PRPs (PAS 220). The certification is accredited under ISO guide 17021 and recognized by GFSI. Renowned large-scale companies in the food sector were the driving force behind the new standard and it is expected that still further multinational food manufacturers and their suppliers will come to support the certification.

Successful certification means that companies can provide objective proof to their trading partners that they have implemented an independently-assessed management system for food safety; in fact, this business-to-business certification is not intended to communicate with consumers.
